Hello all....looks like I'm gonna be fishing the Green below Fontanelle this weekend...anyone been up there lately and if so, please lend some ideas for effective patterns....I'm currently filling up my streamer box.....thanks in advance....J.
San Juan worms did the trick for me about this time last year. Had a couple of good days.

I fish it regularly was out there a few weeks ago and it was hot. Streamers this time of year are good but take time nymph runs and holes w/egg patterns(Rainbows were recently spawning) and big nymphs. If its slow try a size 12 BHHE(olive) trailed by a size 16 blood midge. Move around a lot until you find them, These fish in this stretch are very migratory.
Hope this helps.
P.S
Don't be afraid to use a 7wt. especially when the wind kicks up.

I am hoping to get over there sometime before Friday...I will let you know what happens.
Anyone been up there lately?
I tried a week ago and got my butt kicked. I have heard that this area can be good.
Appreciate any info on how to fish this area.

I love fishing this section of the river...it has some really big fish. I like using big streamers. When fishing it, though, I would recommend a float trip. Wading it can be tough because the fish are sometimes pretty scattered.
