Cache Anglers will meet this Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 7pm. We will be discussing plans for the coming year, including the BOC Banquet & Expo, the Wasatch Fly Tying Expo, ongoing work with the Spawn Creek fencing project, and preliminary planning of activities & outings for the coming year.
LOCATION: Cache County Office, Multipurpose room
179 North Main St.
Main floor (park & enter on the west side of the building)
Logan, UT 84321
One of the things we need to do this year is develop our chapter. It would be great to see new member growth, more faces at the meetings, and more helping hands for the conservation and education projects. I’d like to challenge you all to bring a friend to the meeting this month. Encourage other members to attend as well.
Fishing has been fair on warmer days. You don’t need to get out at the crack of dawn to fish in winter. Sleep in, go get your biscuits & gravy, then hit the water from 11am to 3pm. Winter on the Logan is mainly a nymphing game, with dark nymphs performing best. Try a double nymph rig using a beadhead prince followed by a flashback pheasant tail about 18” behind. Other popular patterns include black rubberleg hares ear nymphs and copper johns. The fish are on the bottom, so don’t forget your split shot.
