Yes I know... Do a search...
I thought this might bring a little bit of activity to an otherwise boring Friday. I was just thinking about fly patterns that I hate to tie. Here's my top 5
1- Turk's tarantula (deer with rubberlegs)
2- Muddler Minnow (Deer and turkey)
3- Double Humpy (double the pain)
4- Schroeder's Hopper (knotted legs and calf tail)
5- Parachute Adams (don't know, just hate it)
What about y'all
I'm not very good at getting rubber legs to sit right.
Any fly that takes over 3 minutes.

I am not a good tier....so, for me, anything besides buggers, pheasant tails, prince nymphs, and foam hoppers.

I don't mind tying any pattern once. It's cranking them out one after another that is hard for me. Maybe because I'm so slow.

you like tying pheasant tails? I hate tying pheasant tails, I give up on the pheasant tail & just use dubbing instead. Small flies with deer hair give me a headache as well. Glo-bugs although easy don't excite me either.

When I first started tying I made the Goddard caddis my nemesis, I mastered it, but it was a brutal & bloody learning curve!
Thread worms are good enough any more.

I might be a little different than most of you in the fact that I hate tying the basics. I would rather tie two Goddard's than a dozen crystal buggers. I like to feel like I've accomplished something when I get done tying. I prefer to continually challenge myself rather than just tie something easy over and over.

What patterns do you HATE to tie?
Anything large. I really don't like big saltwater patterns.
Other then that.
PT's (like the fly hate the feather)
Prince (like the fly hate the feather)
Comparadun (don't care for the fly)
Biot body flies like Mosquito and Quill Gordon (tying with quills sucks)

Damn woven Czech nymps. I did find a good tutorial in the Benchside reference though that made it easier. Now I don't need the crochet needle.

I hate to tie anything that has a hackle.
