Anybody have a recipe and/or tying instructions for the Sheila Sculpin. It was working for me the other day until my cast was "just a little too close to the far bank". It was a pattern I had bought a couple years ago and never tied it back on my tippet after trying it the first time. General description - Gold dumbell eyes, a natural colored zonker strip for the tail and a bunch of other bushy looking stuff between, maybe some chickabou or marabou mixed in there???

I did a web search and enough information came up that I know it is a real pattern that shops recommend an sell. I could only find on little photo that was too small.

Anybody seen that fly in any local shops. I can't remember where I bought it. Got a trip to Montana (first time ffing the Big Sky) in two weeks and I wanted to tie up some big meaty streamers.

The Cabelas website has a zoom feature if you enlarge the photo.

Cheech ties up something similar to that. You might see what he charges for some Sheila's.

Crawdad - That's the one, and the zoom helps but it doesn't get me any closer to figuring out "exactly" how to tie it, but I think I can give it a shot.

Curtis - Good idea about Cheech, I read that he's a fly pimp now. I think I'm going to give it a shot tying the fly, but it would really help to have at least a recipe. If anybody knows of one out there, please post the link.

That's a cool looking sculpin fly. Looks like a lot of different ingredients used. From what I can tell:
Gold dumbell eyes
natural rabbit strip
olive dubbing mix w/ some sparkle
olive grizz saddle
tan mallard flank
soft gray feather? (seen those at sportmans)
olive grizz plume around the head

Good luck Fulano
