Does anyone have any info on who will be tying at this weeks boat show at the south town expo center? The adds keep mentioning fly tying demonstrations but I can't seem to find any info on it.

I'll be up there Thursday afternoon. If they have a schedule for Friday/Saturday/Sunday fly tying presentations, I'll post it when I get back, unless someone else has the information sooner.

So, how much, what are the hours, where's it at, and what's the itineray? Is this going to be similar the Doug Miller Outdoor Expo thing?

I'm taking a tying class from Mickey at Fish Tech. He said last night that he would be tying and fishing at the expo on Thurs, Fri, and Sat. I didn't catch the hours, sorry.

He also will be doing some promos for the show on channel 2 tomorrow morning (their earily am show, abt 7) and both channel 5 and 13 on Fri morning.

I think they'll have a small pool with fish in it for the kids, but they might let you give it a go.

If you can get away with tossing a float tube in there, I'll come with a camera and Jason can post the picture in the photo section of the site.

And, i'll even give you ten bucks for trying it.

But I seem to recall hearing that they will have some type of simulated (artificial) trout stream in that show. Wouldn't they be mad if we all showed up with our rods and related gear and made a party out of it?

RAW! Yes!

I didn't know they would have a stream. We should all go at the same time and chuck some caddis flies at those poor fish. They'd think it was a blizzard hatch!

I got back from the boat show today. Yeah, there were alot of boats, skiing and boarding stuff (this is a boat show), and they do cover other types of fishing (my two 3 year old boys did enjoy catching small rainbows in the fishing pond with bait), and the nod to ff is only one small theater, but I enjoyed the show I saw, and I will be back when Larry Tullis shows up Saturday.

Dennis Brakke tied several patterns this afternoon. I liked his "Mike's Midge" and the "Chrome-midge" patterns. I also learned a way to strengthen my hurl wraps. The rest of you probably already knew the trick, but I didn't. He also had an interesting minnow streamer pattern.

They will have ff casting and fishing shows Fri. Sat and Sun.
