Hello,

It's time to say goodbye to the most popular and beloved fast-action fly rod series of all time. SAGE has discontinued the XP series, and there are very few rods left.

I have about 30 assorted XP fly rods in-stock, and inbound from SAGE. These rods are available at OVER 25% OFF. Sold on a first come basis. Go to www.feather-craft.com and click-on the "SAGE XP Fly Rods OVER 25% OFF" banner to see my selection.

Thanks again!

25% off? Weak, dude. You can do better than that for a discontinued series.

(got a 691-4?)

I agree with Cary, 25% off is weak. Most shops have them for between 30-40% off. I'll take the 890 for $360. Deal?

this post makes me wonder what other rod manufacturers are going to come out with in the near future. Always when you think products can't get any better, something comes along.

My inside said the new line will be faster action than the XP. Sage just started making the TCR 691-4 this last year I believe. Too bad they did that, took some feel out of the XP 691 which is a great casting rod and probably the most popular 6wt out there, but what the hell do I know!

I have a 6wt RPL and XP, and I dig the crap out of the XP. A great rod for 'bones and 'cutts alike.

Corey, I checked again this morning and none are left. When I bought this there was a 5wt and that was the last one. He doesnt even have the xp link anymore.

I heard the new line is amazing, a big improvement, so I think I may be holding out for one of those a few years down the road.

From what I have heard from a reliable source that has casted the rod recently, it is a sizeable improvement to the XP. Lighter and crisper, Like baked potato chips. ;)

Come on now, we all KNOW that's not possible. Bow down and worship the wonder that is the Sage XP!

Seriously, I think one could make the arguement that the XP is the best production rod ever made.

One could ...one of the most popular too...if you like fast action rods. I am more partial to a bit slower action of the SP but thats just me. 20 years from now peole will be making the same argument of "why did Sage ever discontinue the XP" and then sage will come out with the aniversary limited edition special XP for a cool $1000. Great marketing scheme ;)

I have the 390xp, 490xp, (2) 590xp, 596xp, 696xp. I figure i will fish with these rods untile i retire at 57, thats 19 more years and i still beleive they will be as good as anything made. I mean how much better could you make a rod better than the xp. Weight under 3oz's alittle faster. Unless you are in a distance tournament of some kind give me a break.

OH by the way never paid more than $340 for any of my rods.

Ebay is the best!
