Anyone have a recomondation on a descent place to get some material in the salt lake valley.

You can try Sportsman's Warehouse, Western Rivers, FishTech and the like. They are more locally oriented and have good selection. I'd have to say Sportsman's probably has the biggest variety. Dennis at the Fly Desk also has some good stuff.
