Due to elements beyond my control (wife car door, enough said) the tip of my rod was broken off. Have any of you had experience with Sage customer service and warranty coverage for such an event? Please let me know how best to go about resolving this problem. Thanks in advance.

you arent covered under their warranty for breaking it in a car door, but they have a spare tip program where you can buy a tip for your rod... You're gonna have to call

This is BS! just send it in, and they'll replace it.

Hi Dave, nice to meet you.

And they dont need to know how you broke it. I dont believe they have a internal investigation group.

Why not? If you spent $500 on a rod with a warranty, and you are paying $40 for the repair, why not??

You are right. I'm wrong. I guess I need to contact Thomas and Thomas, and St. Croix to pay up.

I have no dealings with Sage rods, but since they purchased Redington (which I have) they have been nothing but peaches and cream to deal with. There is an email that you can send in and talk to a customer service agent. They are super nice and have been a pleasure to deal with. Explain the situation and they generally will work with you.

I broke one of my Sage rods last year (car door). I took the rod to Fish Tech, filled out a form for Sage rod repair, and paid 30 bucks for shipping or whatever. I had the rod back within a week. I thought that was exceptional since it was in the middle of summer. BTW, Fish Tech nor Sage asked any questions about how the rod broke.

Take your rod into fishtech and they will help you out and send it back to sage. They will take good care of you. I'm pretty sure eddie robinson in orem will do the same.

I'm not sure where Jabronoe got his info, but it's just wrong. Sage does not care how you broke it.

Maybe he labeled you an a-hole in a previous post.

I think it was a pretty recent change in policy.

Dude, you're just getting old. You get your hair cut off, what next? Did you know gas is now over $2.50 a gallon? ;^)
