These flies are pretty impressive looking. Does anyone tie these up to streamer fish for trout? Can anyone direct me to tying instructions for his flies? Jason, you know as much about flytying as anyone, can you tie his flies? Enrique Puglisi has a website that shows his flies and sells materials but doesn't show how to tie them. Take a look at how cool they are.

Curtis ties a lot with that stuff. You should shoot him an email.

Cheech - thanks! I have sent him an e-mail.

GJ - do the browns jump on them like the pike? Which pattern of his were you using?

The browns would slam on these SOBs. Hard. Like a freight train.

Now I really have to tie some of these up!

When it comes to baitfish imitations, it's hard to beat the EP fibers. Here are some patterns I've used in the past...

The fibers are very life-like in the water yet still keep a rather defined shape at the same time. With those shearing scissors, you can taper the fly in 3-D.

Kinda cool...

I've never tied with EP fibers but I've used wool and other similar materials. Those flies are not too bad to tie.

Could you post a quick "how to" for that fly? Seems like the flies I try to create to look like that don't have as full of a body as this one. If you don't have time to post instructions could you point me to a link or a reference from a book? What type of materials are used? Thanks for your time.

Very cool fly Curtis, very cool fly Jason. Now how the heck do you tie them?

So, how about 4 - 5 digital pictures showing the steps? Yeah, do it!

I'll see if I can find some time to do it. It's fairly simple to tie.

Do you still need instructions on tying Enrico's flies? I can send you info on
tying these great flies. I tie them myself and I've watched Enrico tie his flies
at Fly Fishing shows for the past few years. If I can be of help, let me know.

Rod Hog can email me with his.
If you have any other suggestions let me know. I won't be able to do that
until Friday 7/14. Thanks Curtis

You don't have to use the EP fibers to tie up a good baitfish pattern like these. Substitues: wool, llama, craft fur, bucktail, Orvis marabou hair, Orvis neer hair, and Orvis unique hair. I've tied with all of these and each have their pros and cons. I need to tie up some of these in larger sizes for Muskie at Pineview. Pass the mono please.

Oh, I almost forgot. Hareline Dubbing sells a material called Ice Fur that is very similar to EP Fiber.
