Not really. I think a bunch of Jr. High students got a hold of everyone's passwords and posted a bunch of mindless drivel on a thread about a certain movie. Nothing to do with fly fishing.

In the end, Mike came to the rescue and bleeped it -- 171 posts too late, but nonetheless, it got bleeped.

Now that I have a spare moment... I was seriously disappointed in the sheer and utter idiocy contained in the "broke back fishing" thread. UtahOTF gets off track and out of hand from time to time, but that particular thread was possibly one of the lowest points this forum has seen.

Let's start with the obvious. This is a fly fishing forum. If you want to discuss some particular aspect of fly fishing or some subject that relates to fly fishing, please do. Otherwise, and I don't know how I can possibly be more clear about this:

If what you're about to post about doesn't have anything to do with fly fishing... DON'T POST.

I accept that some of the threads here are going to drift from the subject of fly fishing. However, having said that, I will not allow people to use this forum as a pulpit for expressing or spreading their particular brand of bias or bigotry. Period. You are of course free to your personal opinion on anything, you are not free however to post it here.

If you can't live within these particular constraints, please do me a favor and stop participating here at UtahOTF.

Well said, Mike. I think it was absolutely the low point - I've never seen anything worse. It caused me think long, hard and very seriously about whether I even want to come here any more given that there are people here who even dare think some of the stuff posted, let alone write and post it. I'm still shaking my head . . .
