This spring you could get your hands on the rack of a lifetime! The Bridgerland Outdoor Coalition has scheduled the 2nd Annual BOC Expo for April 20-22, 2006.

The BOC is a cooperative effort of northern Utah chapters of Trout Unlimited, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Mule Deer Foundation, Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited, National Wild Turkey Federation, the Youth Wildlife Heritage Fund, the Utah Wildlife Federation, Cache Archers and the Back Country Horsemen. The Bridgerland Outdoor Coalition unites conservation efforts to promote and protect our outdoor resources and to educate users about the importance of the outdoors.

Now that the Mission Statement is covered, lets get back to the nice racks and everything else fun at the BOC Expo. There will be vendors, displays by conservation groups, outdoor cooking and product demonstrations, ATV testing & certification, wildlife displays and trophy scoring, and chances to get your own trophy! At the banquet (thursday, April 20th) live and silent auctions will allow access to some primo tags, like the North Cache Bull, South Cache Bull, Cache Moose, and plenty more! Last year there were guns, bows and rods given away, and lots and LOTS of raffle items.

There will be plenty for the kids to do, and Friday, April 21st is Kids Day (12 & under free with an adult). Come try out the fishing simulator, learn to tie a fly, play with some bugs, climb a wall, shoot a bow or air rifle, ride a mountain bike, practice your cast, and participate in the Kids passport program for a chance at some cool prizes!

Banquet tickets are available by calling Cody Johnson (435) 232-2417, Brad Lewis (435) 753-2626, or by visiting The UPS Store in Logan at 41 E. 400 N.

Get in on the Early Bird Offer for a chance to win a $500 Sporting Goods gift certificate! (Must purchase tickets by 3-15-2006)

Don't miss a Five Star banquet, the Live and Silent Auctions, Drawings and Games! Get a chance at some prime Conservation tags! Come see the latest in outdoor gear, see original artwork & decor, get info for hunting, fishing and vacation trips, even check out some Bling for the truck!

Your support of the Bridgeland Outdoor Coalition directly affects your outdoors experience. BOC aids in acquiring and funding conservation easements, protects and restores critical habitat for fish, fowl and big game, and educates our youth on the value of the outdoors. From a fisherman's perspective, the BOC has assisted with the Spawn Creek fencing project in order to protect crucial Bonneville cutthroat spawning habitat.

Cache Anglers is also in need of volunteers to assist with teaching kids to tie flies (wooly bugger level), and to help with running the extremely popular fishing simulator at the BOC Expo. If you'd like to help with either or both of these activities on April 21st or 22nd, please contact Nick Jones at (435) 787-4587.

Buy your tickets now for the Banquet and Auctions, and plan on attending the BOC Expo April 20-22, 2006 at Utah State University!

Isn't that the same weekend as the Idaho Falls Fly fishing Expo?

Yes and no. The Banquet is on a thursday, so you can still have a chance at the prizes and auction items. The Expo portion does compete with the fly tying expo in Idaho Falls on friday and saturday, but both are two day events, so you could still attend each event.

The BOC Expo is getting more exciting every time we meet for our planning meetings. Here's some more info:

The Boy Scouts will be taking part in the activities. Merit badge clinics, camping and meals will be available for the troops.

The banquet, which will be held thursday night, April 20th, will be the setting for the live and silent auctions, in addition to the raffles. There's going to be some exciting bidding for the following items:

TAGS
-North Cache Bull Elk (early or late, any weapon)
-South Cache Bull Elk (early or late, any weapon)
-Crawford Deer
-N. Rich Antelope

TRIP (pay attention fishermen!)
-ALASKA FLY-IN LODGE, for two people, includes the following items:
-Lodging, meals, guiding and shuttle from Anchorage to the lodge & back (Lake Marie Lodge)
-Waders, boots & vest for 2 people from William Joseph
-2 fly rods from Scott Fly Rod Company
-2 reels from Vosseler Pro-Flyfishing
-line, leader & tippet
-fly selection from Rainy's
Roundtrip airfare from SLC not included

The N. Cache & S. Cache bull tags are the only ones available. Moose tags are hard to come by anyway. Should be fun bidding if you're after a trophy!

The Alaska trip should be a real blast. The lodge specializes in small stream dry fly fishing for kings & silvers, with abundant rainbow & grayling populations, and is located just outside Denali National Park. Many record fish have been taken here.

Order your tickets for the banquet before they are sold out! And if you just can't make it but want to participate in the live auction, email me, and we can arrange for proxy bidding.

If you are a retailer and would like a booth, the discount period ends Feb. 1.

Feel free to email me with any questions. dbnightfish@hotmail.com

Three Corners Moose (Uintas)

The early bird prize has been upgraded from a $500 sporting goods gift certificate to a $1,000 Cache turkey tag(either season). To qualify for the Early Bird you must purchase a banquet package before March 15.

There will be some swan permits GIVEN AWAY during the banquet. Anybody ever tie with trumpeter swan?
