I just bought a pair of these from AI for $9.95. They are well worth the money. Wether you're cutting fine hackle or clipping spun deer hair they're great. I am impressed with the whole Dr. slick line. Highly reccomended.

in the ak best book was to cary scissors instead of nippers on your vest. that way you can more easily trim flies on the stream than could do with nippers. i have some "well used" tying scissors: maybe i should retire them to my vest and get a set of slicks for my tying table

Good idea but you'll want to make sure they're someplace where the points won't find your belly. Them suckers sre sharp!
As a side note to Phlyfisher's on Dr. Slick, I had a pair of the tungsten 3 1/2" that wouldn't cut worth a damn. I contacted them through their website and was fully replaced within a week. The new ones are great. So is their service.
