Dave set up a meeting with Rep. Matheson and took along Tim and Paul and me. Dave put together a great agenda and the three of them walked Matheson through each of the talking points. It was impressive to see the three of them in action (I kept my mouth firmly shut) and it appeared that the group made some real headway with water and land issues. Of course it is a politicians job to listen to constituents and make them feel warm and fuzzy and extra special, but it seemed Matheson genuinely was interested in some of our concerns.
So a big pat on the back to Dave for setting up the meet, and Tim and Paul for key comments. We will just have to see what kind of followups we get, and progress made. Dave gave Matheson a book to read 'Salmon without Rivers" that ought to get his attention. It was also obvious on our way out that a "Don Peay was here first" token was present: a Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife ball cap prominently displayed within a cabinet.
