I don't know if I like these reels or not, but they sure would be a good streamside conversation starter.

They had better be diamond studded!
what a bunch of crap. How does the mayfly design enhance the usability of functionality?
Frankly, I dont mind paying 400 bucks or so for a reel. But its got to be worth it in terms of functionality & reliability.

I don't need purdy stuff, but those suckers fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.

I think they're cute. I'll bet one of them there gadgets would increase a guys catch rate by at least 25%.

I guess it's true what they say about opinions.
What the hell is up lately? Everyone what to quit thier day job and become the Fly Fishing equivalent of Siskel and Ebert?
You may think it not functional and it may not be your cup of tea, but I applaud the ingenuity that it took to create it and the nuts to market it.

99% of the material on this site is "opinions". What would it be without them?
Ready them, agree or disagree and enjoy the site. No need to think that anyone is anything but a FF enthusiast that has an opinion.
How do you like the reel, Norm? Those mayfly legs look a bit dainty.
Here's my opinion, I'm all for a good ribbing and anyone from this site that knows me and still might be around knows I'm as big of an antagonist as anyone. Lately, most of the barbs I see seem to be personal. I think it detracts from the site. I'm not going to call anyone out but ask that people keep the criticism of people or products on a constructive level. This is a good site and I think the creators of the site want to keep a forum that is friendly to newcomers an light hearted for the regulars. If you want someone to rib, come after me, here's some material you can go with. I'm 40lb's overweight, up to last year I fished in neoprene waders and when I bought breathables I still went with Hodgeman, I've finished 2 bamboo rods and love to fish them, I use an Okuma reel on them. I usually buy older deep discounted fly line. I try to tie flies but they are so bad fish usually laugh at them, I wore glasses as a kid and got picked on constantly because of my size. I resent people that fish SAGE, I'm a sloppy drunk and a jack Mormon. I live in a small house on the west side of Brigham. I drive older cars. I have a float tube but no pontoon boat. And my dream is to have a nice new Phoenix greased silk line attached to one of my bamboo rods via a Logan reel with a mayfly on the side.

That Sage reference was for you, you damn elitist.

Oh I forgot, I suck at dry fly fishing, wet fly fishing, nymphing and streamers.
And I count foul hooked fish in my daily totals.

I can't give you $hit cuz when I look in the mirror and look at my gear, I am just like you. ;)
But I am always going to have an opinion.
("uncomfortable pause with silence")
Yes.
Norm
Norm would be anybody's daddy. Just don't let him find out where you hide the booze.
PS, I told you a while back to put me on your waiting list for one of your custom snazzy lumber sticks. Until then, I'm stuck with my plasatic Sage's

Maybe I have been catching the "under 2 1/2 pound" variety of trout for to long.
Why would anyone spend $400 for a line holder?

Why drive a Bentley, wear Egyptian silk shirts, tell the time by Omega & smell like Georgio Armani?

Norm, we love you no matter who you are or what you wear. So are you considered elitist since you fish with bamboo? Cary?
I personally think those reels look stupid. They look like a baby rattle or something. I like the creativity but the colors and such just kill the design.

Hey.... but like Norm said, we gotta give them credit for having the "pelotas" to try. I'd say the designers got their wives involved or something. Probably have frilly pink curtains in their bedrooms too.
BTW Norm, I'm wearing on of about ten of those Old Navy shirts today.... still nice and soft. What we they, 5 for $10 or something.
