Last night I had dreams of throwing hardware (hopkins spoons) to circling stripers with my Uncle (from S.C.). In my dream they were the size of Tarpon. I have no idea why I dreamed this. But I think I'm now going to head to Willard on Friday...

Lonnie,

If you not read it do "On The Run" An anglers journey down the Striper Coast, by David DiBenedetto. Wish I was there now for the next 3 months.

Thanks Stoney. I'll see if I can track down a copy. There's nothing like fishing for stripers on a cold and grey day in an angry ocean...

The first chapter starts with this guy swimming out a 1/2 mile in nothing but a wet suit in the October night off Montauk to fish live eels to stripers. B & N should have a copy WR also carries it.

That's rad! We used to fish live eels (big 12" long suckers) off the Bonner Bridge over oregon inlet at the N end of Hatteras island (where Ophelia just went by). Good times.

Just placed a hold via the SLCO lib...

Stoney,

My wife picked my book up for me last night. I stated reading it at 9:00 and fisnished 1/3 of it. I'll admit I read the last chapter first (about oregon inlet, NC). I know EXACTLY where he was fishing. Too cool. Now I'm really stoked to hit the Wipers in the AM. I'm really homesick for the ocean too. In a few months it will be prime there. Thanks for the suggestion, it's been a great read so far.

(and people are complaining about lack of content recently....)

Stoney,

I google earth'ed it. Here's the location. Notice all the boats on the SW side of the bridge. That's a very popular place for sea trout.

No worries Lonnie, we'll get together another time. Looks like me and Brent are heading up Sat morning....depending on the report you give us Friday night and fishing until around noon or whenever. If your report sucks we may find ourselves heading to Pineview for Tiger Muskie as plan B. If anyone wants to meet up shoot me a PM or email.

There is nothing I would rather be doing this Saturday. Unfortunately, there are several things my wife would rather have me doing :(. She wins this weekend, I win the 7th and 8th.

Keep me in mind next time though. Wipers are my favorite!

Lonnie's report was a little dismal so I'm not sure what we'll be doing. Maybe Pineview is the way to go...smallies are on!
