MP Question?

Last night...fish rising everywhere.....few caddis flying around. So I throw on a couple kinds of caddis and catch a few fish, but there were fish coming up all around me. Some of them way out of the water and some of them slurping something.

I start to observe what's actually on the water. I end up finding a few caddis, a golden stone, yellow sallies, and some sort of mayfly. What kind of mayfly would be out in the eveving. The fish were slurping them....I could only see their wings, so I'm not sure body color or anything. I had a few takes on a PMD, but I'm still perplexed on what the fish were actually eating. Any suggestions??

Did you happen to see a guy in an orange cap that was SLAYING??

I saw him too.

He was using a tan X-caddis trailed by an iris caddis.

Could have been PMD spinners....almost impossible to see or notice. Don't count out caddis emergers just underneath the surface or in the surface film. Take Cheech's advice and try a caddis pupa/emerger as a dropper about 8-10 off the dry.
