Just wondering....What is the best thing you have been able to take away from UOTF? For me personally, it was the spectrumized leech info/recipe from Jeff Brooks. This fly has done more for my stillwater trips than anything else. So thanks to you Jeff, and thaks to Herb for mixing me up a big batch of the dubbing.

For me, the best thing about UTOF is the people I've met.

I started lurking UOTF a month or two after I took up fly fishing and the biggest thing it has done for me is to help me learn the basics from fishing techniques to entomology to fly recipies for local waters.

Except for that week I spent fishing the west fork of the Allred with my size 14 Astro midge, it has been very helpful information.

For those that haven't fished it, I'll be posting coordinates to the West fork of the Alred soon. It rules.....

Last night a number of brown trout reminded me what my true answer to this question should have been. The CDC and Elk is the most productive fly that I learned about from this sight, hands down. Mr. Caddis Pimp himself, Utah Dave XXII is the man for divulging that little tip.

Last night CDC and elk out-fished the hell out of an EHC and a Goddard, and it was pretty much the case regularly last summer after UD pimped me into being a caddis guy. The bonus is, it's the second easiest fly to tie in my box right after the Zebra midge.

A few years ago I was having trouble with the dubbing falling off my flies. I posted the problem and within a few days had several suggestions. Moke actually emailed me instructions of how to use a dubbing tool. This made all the difference in the world for my flies. I use it on both dry flies and nymphs.

Entertainment. Pure entertainment. While I get the benefit of learning from other (great people) about a sport I am completely obsessed with, I have, on more than a few occassions burst into fits of laughter while sitting lonely in my office. To the casual observer this occurs for no apparent reason, but there is no mistake, one of the best things I take from this site is the FUN.

You guys are great.

Yeah, post about your new web site or how you slayed them on your favorite small water (include all the details) and you'll learn plenty...
