Where do you guys get yours? I've bought from Hooked in Kaysville, I've bought from damonrods.com out of New York. After looking around a bit, It seems Hooked is pretty pricey on their guides and Damon is pretty limited on selection. Where do you suggest?

Greg carries a good selection at Lone Peak in AF. I like Angler's workshop too. And also hookhack.com as well.

I've bought mine through hookhack.com and Fish Tech.

When Anglers went out of business, I bought a box of guides from them. There were thousands of guides of all shapes and sizes in it. I got it for $50. I have built over 30 rods with those guides, and I have barely made a dent. I'm pretty set with guides for a while.

Snake Brand Snake guides. http://www.snakeguides.com/ .

IMO by far the best I have ever seen. Made in the U.S.A. gound and fit perectly out of the box so there is no hassle.

Cheap Chinese crap pales in comparison. You get what you pay for.

Twice annually at Dock "C" of the Riverside Harbor in Oakland there is a Slave Guide Auction. Most of these wild guides were captured in New Zealand, Chile and Argentina and brought back to America. Most are in decent health and range in age from 20-60, male and female. The Kiwi's generally command the highest bid because the speak english. I was able to purchase a wild female guide from Patagonia a few years ago for only $1,000. A good guide but I decided to trade her for my boat kit. When I get the dates of a new shipment I'll post it.

Yeah, but how good are those guides on local waters?

LOL, ROTF!

OK, I'm in.

I would like to pre-order a exceptionally tall Amazonian-type that can shimmy up trees and get my $%#$@#& flies back.
