I know it's early but I promised some of you that I would let you know which dates we were doing Starvation this year.
June 17-18th
Jason and Stout found a sweet camp site in the rocks last year.
Anyone is welcome and we will catch a lot of fish. The water is crystal clear and nothing beats sight fishing for smallies.
Stout will put on a walleye fly fishing seminar and hopefully we will catch some large Browns and Carp.
Here is a link to some pics from last years trip

Again, anyone is welcome and it should be an enjoyable trip (2hrs from SLC)
mark your calandars today

Pres huh... I kinda like it. I think I'll name my pontoon Air Force 1. I may use up all of my kitchen passes on the John Day, but if'n I explain this whole Pres thing to my wife, maybe she'll understand.

Well put me down for a maybe on the Saturday. My kitchen passes are probably going to be gone after the John Day smallmouth trip, but I think I could swing a one day outing. Come on Cheech, your wife would go for that...

Vile, filthy, loathsome, vexacious CURSES!
Turns out that weekend is smack in the middle of our family vacation to California. I am really bummed (on the edge of angry) because of all the trips I wanted to make this year, this was the one I was most looking forward to - I've even started trying to tie some poppers.
Maybe I'll have to beg/convince you guys to make another trip later?

If it will help you can tell the family you just found out that you are being sent out of town for more training with work.......

I think I'll name my pontoon Air Force 1.
Are you going to fill the pontoons using flatulent gas? Maybe Air Farts 1....

If it will help I will call you at work and tell you that you are required to be out of town June 17th & 18th. When you get home you can tell the family that while you were at work today you received a phone call informing you that you are called away for training.

The fact is simply that it is impossible for me to lie to my wife (I have given up after 12 years of trying) - I can't even be sneaky. If I tried this one, I'm sure I could end up going because... I would be DIVORCED!

Getting pretty excited for the weather to warm...
I'm planning on it Senor!... but with an addition to the family arriving the end of April... and the Pelican trip too... Let's just say I'm extremely hopeful.
As for Walleye, I say we go get a few man!... but that means you need to go pick up some fast sinking line. Go get some type 6 line, and with you fish finder, maybe we won't have to fish blind like last time. I hear those walleye are some of the best fish to eat...and if we catch a few, I would be game to find out if that is true. What do you say?
Oh.. and I will show you where and when Jason picked up all his fat smallies. We will beat him to his spot so he has to go find us more good water. :)
P.S.
Way cool pictures. It's amazing what you can do to digital pictures. Many of those fish actually look like they are respectable sizes. You really did wonders with Jason's pictures. I've never seen 8 inch fish looks so chunky.

Stout,
Those pics of Jason were straight from your camera! I did not modify any of them. (just cropped the fat out of the background)
Blender, I will go at a later time with you. I can't change my original dates though because of work.

I was totally trying to razz Jason, You know...mock is SM skills... :)
You were supposed to play along.
...anyway all of Jason's smallies are actually the same fish. He only caught one fish he asked me to take a lot of pictures of it so it would look like he caught a bunch of fish.

That fish you're holding up just by the fly, Is that a walleye you got there? It doesn't look like the bass in the other pictures. The fin placement is different and it looks longer and skinnier than the bass. So is it?
BTW, I'm not trying to hijack the thread, but has there been any talk about when Pelican is this year? I'm thinking early to mid-June would be good with all the cold and wet that's been coming around. Give the fish some time to heat up(along with the action).

Ha ha. Real funny. Actually all the smallies were caught at a local pay to fish pond and I just cropped out the background so it looked like Starvation. The miracle of photo editing.......
