View Full Version : Winston 8 wt Boron IIx or Ibis?

Anybody got one of these? Figure for flats in the south and steelhead in the northwest? Can't buy blanks for the Ibis which means I would have to buy a finished rod (which I try not to do) for almost the same price as the boron IIx in a kit. (The XTR seems too stiff for an 8 weight). Any opins?

of how about the LTX? 2003 model, 3 piece, 8wt, 9ft in a kit for $269?

thanks Dan, I did. seems like a popular rod in the 8 wt but not so much in the heavier rods....

6 wt. 9'6"" B-IIx one fine stick that extra 6" makes a life much better. (better mending control, and that extra ft. or so on that drift. My catch rate has increased.
