I stopped by today and picked up the 14/0 that I was in since of. I want to say thanks to those that suggested Hooked in Kaysville. I was impressed with the store and the people working.

Those that have not been in the store it is well worth the time to stop by.

I will make it a point to stop by when driving by on I-15.

It was also nice seeing steeliesonafly.

Thanks again!

I just found Hooked a couple months ago and now I make a weekly visit whether I need to or not. :) I love actually living near a flyshop...finally.

Good shop.

Be sure you say hi to "Santa" er, um... Steeliesonafly.

Good shop. Here's a cute little story: I tied LaFontaine Tan Sparkle pupa patterns for an older gentleman. He took one into Hooked and was bragging to one of the sales "boys" about how great they worked for him. He said, "The young salesperson looked it over and then told him it was tied wrong." The salesperson then asked him if he would like the shop to tie them correctly for him and he said, "No, they seem to catch fish okay." LOL :)

Yep, James knows what he's doing. Great little shop within about 30 seconds of my place. Not a purist shop, but they have everything you need to catch fish. They just picked up Orvis last summer and they have a butt load of tying materials. Now if James would just pick up Sage or Winston!

Just kidding James!

Thanks for the Ross hat!

They are great guys in there. They turned me on to TFO rods. Also picked up a couple Tachit boxes there about a month ago that I have been unable to find anywhere else. Nice selection for every taste. But still has that cozy fly shop atmosphere. A coffee pot would be nice though. ;)

Back in 2000 I had James order me a rod he normally didn't stock. A week or so later he called my house to tell me it was in. I wasn't there, so he told my wife (much to her surprise) that my new rod had arrived... it was a cold few nights out in the dog's house.

Hooked is one of my favorites, and not only because it's near casting distance from my house... and by hiring SteeliesOAF - James put the icing on an already great cake. Just wish he could get Travis to work more. Come on Trav - what do ya want to go to Med school for? You've already got a job...

Hey you guys. Thanks for all the good talk. Love to fly fish, and love to help others learn, or just to talk fishing. My cancer left me not being able to do many things and James took pitty on me, and took me in. Love to work in a place where you can get pretty much what you want. We may not have everything you need, but we can pretty much get it. Well most things....

Thanks you guys.

Oh and James says for RAW. If he really wants to learn how to tie the Twisted Nymph, just drop on in. Also same goes for a twisted foam fly! LOL

Steeliesonafly

I know I twist my foam the wrong way. I twist away from my body with my right hand and toward my body with my left, I just can't make them twist it opposite of that!

They seem to land on the water okay, but I don't know what would happen if a guy casted left-handed?
