Stef if you read this where can I get the 14/0 you told us about? I looked at SW and they looked at me like I was nuts.
If anyone knows please reply.
Thanks,

If you need to order some get me some in olive, cream and black. I used some of stefs and it was unbelivably strong i thought i would brake it like nothing but i didnt and the thread didnt build up at all.

Get a hold of Dennis. I picked up a dozen spools of the Griffiths 14/0. It's definitely smaller in diameter and strong as 8/0. Good stuff. I tie with it all the time.

I'll second what Jason said. Buy the Griffiths 14/0 from Dennis. It's good stuff.

How does the Gordon Griffiths compare to, say, Gudebrod? I have some GG 14/O that I've used for a long time and I've heard that the Gudebrod is good too....just curious.

Gudebrod 10/0 is actually smaller than Griffith's 14/0, but the 10/0 isn't very strong at all. I like them both. I'll tie down to 24 with the 14/0. Any smaller and I need the 10/0.

I've heard the same thing cheech says above about Gud. 10/0 vs. GG 14/0. I use the GG 14/0 all the time on small flies, and really like it. As others say, surprisingly strong. I get mine from Dennis, also.

Cheech, is that really you?? I bought some Gudebrod so I'll give that a try.
Sumner, I know of some fish with your name on them wanting to be caught using some very fine threaded flies....I chatted with many of them personally on Friday and they were very eager to cooperate, so let me know when you're free.
I'm in Phoenix this week, but next week will work. E-mail me if you're free...

I wanna go too... Sumner may need another stillwater guy by his side to reassure him that stream fishing really isn't the DEVIL
I like gudebrod for bunny midges. Orvis thread is very good too... Hmmm maybe because it's the same stuff.

Ok, you come too ya' dang ol' Vernalite, man. Got them dang ol' fish just waitin' to taste my fly man...
Sumner, I hope you can put up with us. The redeeming grace is that we can may get you into a grundle of fish. It's been pretty dang ol' good...

It's not that I think streamin' it is so lowly, it's just that for me, still waterin' it is nirvana. That, and my moving water skills are really poor - I'm not sure I could catch a fish from moving water if my life depended on it.
You'd really be laughing if you saw the e-mail I sent Curtis - go ahead and forward it to him Curtis . . .
