UTOTF Green River Trip II

Ok, I'm planning the dates to be March 18, 19 & 20.

This would include lodging Friday and Saturday nights. I need a head count of YOU serious fly fishers who want to become legends of eating, "drinking" and general merriment....and who can tell the biggest lies!!! This will include room assignments of 4 people to a condo...beds will be given on a 1st come basis.

I gave up playing in the first men's association golf tournament and the first local UGA tournament of the year last year for this trip. My guess is it will be the same this year. The sacrifices I make...

I haven't taken the new GLX out much at all other than several Strawberry trips, so I haven't had much real casting practice with it. I haven't taken it out to a large river like the Green. Hopefully, I can do a *little* better casting with the GLX 5 weight than the GL3 4 weight I used last year at my first Green trip. Jason B has some great casting techniques to handle the big river and the wind. Maybe I can learn something this time.

I'll also be taking some of my first flies I tyed since I got a vice for Christmas. I'll tye some olive WD40's that worked last time. Now, I just need to buy everything but the vice hehe. I tyed a #10 hare's ear Christmas day when at the relative's house. My uncle showed me how it's done. He just started tying.

How long are you planning on staying Jason B? Want to drive there and back together again?

Being fully healed and not planning on any injurys i would like to stay the three days and get my share of fishing in and make up for last year. I would not mind carpooling at all.

I don't think I can make it this year. Not the three days anyway. I might make a shorter trip up, but I don't know for sure yet.

For those of you who have not been to a UOTF trip, this is a good one to go to. The price is right. Obvoiusly, there is plenty of river to fish and there is usually a pretty good turn out. Lots of fly tying and lots of laughs.

Also, if you want to learn how to fish the Green when there is no hatch, go fish with Ed Kent. He can show you and he is always willing to share the info. He hammers em up there.

You might also get into some good dry fly fishing with baetis and midges.

I am going just on Saturday with Cheech, Herb and Windknot probably. We could possibly fit another person or two as well. Just depends on which vehicles we take. We usually meet at the mouth of Provo Canyon to head up.

I'm out unless this is done on a different weekend. Last year's trip is still the only time I have been to the Green. I would really like to go again with UOTF people. To see the Green for the first time was quite an experience.

I think Jason B. has a birthday party to attend that weekend, too hehe.
