I know sows and scuds work this time of year I have seen shane and jason catch with them. I just need to know from some of you your favorite size and coloration for the winter, please and thank you.

Size 14 sow. Use either the sow mix Greg has at Lone Peak or get some Wapsi Sow dubbing. I go with lighter colors all year round, but they do change from time to time with the season if you want to "match the hatch". I also use red thread to tie them.
I don't fish scuds per se, but smaller sows will work as well...
I got some sows from Jason B quite awhile ago, and they worked like a charm. Awesome flies.
Flysmyth,
Next time you are out, get out your seine net and bring some home with you to look at. Put them in little specimen tubes. Your hands might get a little cold, but I think it's a fun way to expirement with different sizes and colors.
Have fun, Flysmyth.

Don't forget hot pink & bright orange on the scuds, deadly in the winter months. Muskrat, burnt copper wire & red thread are all one needs for the sows.
