Red Midge
Recipe
Red Midge

Hook: Standard nymph or scud hook size 16-24

Thread: Various color, 6/0.
Abdomen: Thread body.
ØDirections: Attach thread the bring it back to the bend of the hook. Attach wire and begin forming an even body (thin), stop at the head. Wrap wire in even wraps and then tie off. Form an abdomen with thread and whip finish.
ØComments: The Red Midge is a great pattern that can be used all year round. When things are slow or midges are present this can be a deadly fly. I think the red color really attracts the fish. I have had days where the Red Midge was the only fly I used and ended up having a great day.
